FAQs.
An active subscription or an active rental is an order that has a live, running subscription/rental attached to it. Orders without a subscription/rental don't count, and neither do subscriptions/rental that are paused, cancelled, or ended — only the ones actively running count toward your plan limit.
In addition to the monthly plan fee, circuly charges a small percentage of your invoiced subscription revenue — 1.5% on Base, down to 0.5% on Rocket. This only applies to revenue processed through circuly, not your regular Shopify sales.
Yes. A migration tool is included from Growth, and a managed migration (where the circuly team handles it for you) is available on Pro and Rocket.
A return policy defines the rules for when and how customers can return products — the return window, whether they get a full refund, a prorated refund, or none, and whether a restocking fee applies. If you're running rentals or leases, you'll almost certainly want this.
A termination fee is charged when a customer cancels before completing their minimum commitment period. You define how many billing cycles they must complete, what percentage of the remaining value is charged, and how long they have to pay. Unpaid fees can be auto-waived after a set number of days.
Buyouts let customers purchase the product they're currently renting or subscribing to, rather than returning it. This is particularly popular in furniture, bike, and electronics rental businesses — it turns a renter into a buyer and reduces return logistics. Available for admin-initiated buyouts from Growth; customer self-service buyouts from Pro.
Loyalty pricing automatically reduces the subscription price after a customer has completed a set number of billing cycles. For example, you could offer a 10% discount from month 4 onwards. It's a proven retention tool that rewards long-term subscribers without any manual intervention. Available from Pro.
Bundles let customers build their own subscription box by picking individual products from your store. As a merchant you define which products belong to a bundle, set the bundle price, and the minimum number of items required. On the product page, eligible products show an "Add to bundle" button with a counter showing progress — for example 1 of 3. Once the minimum is reached, the customer can proceed to checkout. Popular with fashion rental and toy subscription businesses.
